International Drive Resort Area Welcomes
Four-Legged Family Members with Open Paws
If you can't leave home without your four-legged family member, there are lots of choices in the International Drive Resort Area that will cater to your pet while you visit!
Orlando was recognized for its pet-friendly atmosphere when it was named among AAA's "Top 10 Most Accommodating Cities for Pet Travelers" and DogFriendly.com's "Top 10 Dog-Friendly Destinations in the U.S. and Canada." Not only do many I-Drive properties welcome your pet with open paws, they also offer amenities and services that make them feel at home.
The International Drive Resort Area, rolls out the welcome mat for pets and their animal-loving owners! There is something available for every budget from resorts to value-priced properties. Be sure to check specific accommodations for price and requirements when traveling with your pet.
The three Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando Resort unleashed its “Loews Loves Pets” program in 2000 at the Portofino Bay Hotel, the Royal Pacific Resort and the Hard Rock Hotel. Pets have their own special mat, food and water bowl, toys and treats. A room service menu is available and a “Do Not Disturb” sign is posted on the door when the rest of the family is out. A map is available to indicate “pet friendly” walking areas. A welcome pack includes a listing of pet services at the hotel including information on vets, pet shops and groomers. A special pet placemat with food and water bowls, toys and treats are in each room. Pet walking and pet sitting services may be arranged through the concierge at each hotel. They even have a loaner program for pet supplies. A pet-friendly room service menu is available.

With many hotels providing accommodations for pets, it is important to confirm with the property at time of booking that they still accept pets as well as any restrictions that may be applied. Be sure to ask about deposits and if proof of current inoculations is required.
Heading to the theme parks? Pets may be checked into onsite kennels at both SeaWorld Adventure Park Orlando and Universal Studios Florida. Both kennels are air-conditioned and require proof of inoculations and request that owners bring food and return to the kennel to walk pets during the day.
