Pink Heals National Cancer Awareness Tour Returns to Central Florida

A fleet of pink fire trucks will stop at Pointe Orlando to raise awareness and financial support for local cancer centers

ORLANDO (September 9, 2011) –A fleet of pink fire trucks are traveling the nation to spread cancer awareness as part of the "Pink Heals Tour." The tour will bring professional firefighters in full pink gear who call themselves the "Guardians of the Ribbon." The Guardians bring love and hope to communities around the country in the form of pink fire trucks. They inspire cities and empower leaders to support the women of their communities to "Care Enough to Wear Pink." This non-profit supports and helps other non-profit programs raise money by bringing the pink fire trucks to various fund raisers to assist in the efforts at no charge to the organization. As Guardians of The Ribbon, the goal is to spread the "Cares Enough to Wear Pink" campaign until all are in pink shirts. Why? Because Pink Heals!

Local firefighters have partnered with Pink Heals for this free event on October 1, 2011. Pointe Orlando will host the fleet of pink trucks as well as various activities and events throughout the evening from 6pm-2am. The Orange County Firefighters Benevolent Association will also be selling pink t-shirts and collecting donations, with proceeds to benefit various local cancer centers. Guardians of the Ribbon, Pointe Orlando and local firefighters invite everyone to come out, buy a t-shirt, sign one of the pink trucks and to be part of The Pink Heals Tour. Local firefighters will sport pink and invite others to wear pink to show support in the fight against cancer. Participating Pointe Orlando restaurants, bars and retailers will offer discounts to those who purchase a pink wrist band.
