The Upside-Down Attraction

Everyone who has visited the International Drive Resort Area knows about the upside-down attraction. Housing over 100 interactive exhibits, WonderWorks is an amusement park for the mind, and is a staple on International Drive. Giving visitors the opportunity to feel a 5.3 earthquake, touch 100,000 volts of electricity, design their own roller coaster, among various other hands on activities – many would title it their favorite I-Drive attraction. But how many people actually know the story behind the upside-down building? WonderWorks originally began as a top-secret research laboratory on a remote island in the Bermuda Triangle. Legend has it that the world’s greatest scientists, led by Professor Wonder, were tasked with creating a man-made tornado and harnessing its power. During the experiment, something went awry, and the power of the tornado was released inside the laboratory. This created a swirling vortex strong enough to rip the lab from its foundation. It was carried thousands of miles away and landed up-side down. So, next time you’re on I-Drive, be sure to stop and snap a picture at the beloved upside-down attraction – WonderWorks.
